To produce and perform at the highest artistic level a wide range of choral music; to provide choral singers with challenging, instructive and rewarding opportunities to make music together; and to enrich, educate and entertain the community by offering the excitement of live performance to diverse audiences in a variety of settings.

April, 2012, will bring the centennial of the sinking of Titanic, one of the greatest tragedies to affect American society in the twentieth century. VOCI will undertake an exciting and groundbreaking project in the presentation of a full Broadway show in concert format.

Massillon Museum Archivist talks Titanic at North Canton Civic Center Mandy Altimus Pond, Archivist at the Massillon Museum, presented a program about the Titanic entitled “Titanic and the End of the Edwardian Era” in conjunction with Voices of Canton’s upcoming performance of Titanic: The Musical in early June. Ms. Pond’s presentation on April 26, attended by 115 people, included historical background information, photos, music, film clips from the time as well as a live preview of Titanic: The Musical featuring VOCI members. |
